Alright, here is my project! I used Disney Classics to make a Mad Hatter shaped card. While I was making the card, I was thinking about an appropriate sentiment for the silly character. Yes, of course, Johnny Depp's version kept popping in my head, but I wanted to stay true to the original Lewis Carroll version. Well, Wikipedia came to the rescue and they talked about a riddle that the Hatter said the book and I had to use it on the card.
Yes, it says "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" Completely and utter nonsense! Carroll intended to leave the riddle unanswered but after much badgering, he wrote that they were alike "Because it can produce a few notes, though they are very flat; and it is nevar put with the wrong end in front!". Well, if my printer had ink I would have printed out something for the inside that said "Because it can produce a few notes...oh, who cares? Let's Party!" I think it would be soooo cute for an Alice in Wonderland party!
A few closeups:
I used Varsity Letter for the words and they actually cut really good! I also pop-dotted the speech bubble, which I cut from Create a Critter, so it would stand out from the Hatter.
I hope you enjoy my project and all of the others on the hop!
Hop on over to Brynn's blog and see what she has in store for you today!
I love the mad hatter and he truly does embrace some of our utter nonsense over the royals! :)
