Birthday Layouts

I finished these two layouts yesterday; one is for the birthday of one of my friends and the other is for a birthday dinner I cooked for my little sister and my other sister's boyfriend (who have birthdays close together).

This one doesn't have a lot of Cricut on it, just the tag shape and the circle that I stamped. But I did use my Sew Easy on it, which seems to work easier on the cardstock than it did on patterned paper. Admittedly, I need to practice more but I really like the way it turned out on here. I love the colors of the layout which were inspired by the birthday girl, who is wearing purple!

And the other one:

Completely different color palette. I used Birthday Bash for the bee, the title and the cake. I used DCWV Birthday Extravaganza (I think that's what it's called) for most of the patterned paper. I am pretty happy with the way it came out; I just wish some of my layouts would look more polished like others I see.

I am on a roll! I would like to get 2010 done by the end of the summer...but who knows cuz I take A LOT of pictures and I insist on scrapping each event because each of them are important to me!

  1. Love your LO's. The HapBEE Birthday is the first I have seen with that clever use on the "play on words". Great Job!
Thanks for stopping by to respond to the post. You hit the nail on the head with the point I was trying to convey to my teenage daughter. She is going through a very rough patch right now, hating her school because of drama and all the "junk" that happens to every teenager in every era. I just wanted to gain opinions from outsiders all over to let her know she is not alone. You know, you can tell them "I know what you're going through". But coming from mom just doesn't mean as much as coming from complete strangers. Even as cooky as that sounds. Thanks for responding and stopping by! By the way, I bet you have gotten a lot of admiration and comments from family and friends about you OSU book, huh?!?
